Anyone going to play? It starts today at 0000Z.
Phone and CW, and it's an easy exchange........RST and state. If the band is open, this will be a great opportunity to pick up some DX, and states. ARRL 10 Meter Contest |

I'll be operating casually.
The last contest I did was CQWW DX SSB and I made something like 130 contacts on 10 meters, which was my best band... hopefully the propagation cooperates again. Unfortunately my best and highest antenna got taken out by an icy branch, so all I have is a 10 meter hamstick at about 10 feet with 4 radials, and a G5RV inverted V at 40 feet center, 10 feet ends. |

How is it going? The band is packed with strong signals. I'm just hunting around for new countries, and have only worked a couple of stations But it's funny what you find when you least expect it. I was spinning through the CW portion of the band, and I hear a station give his state as Rhode Island. He is very strong and not busy. I called once and now I have triple play on RI. Crazy luck. |

For the most part, it's the same here. I've only found one that I needed, and that was Hungary on CW. V55V (Namibia) is on 28.608.0, but I can't bust through the pileup. ![]() I worked him, didn't need him. But since he uses LoTW, I figured what the heck.... |

Ramon, PZ5RA is on too, but my tolerance for pileups is pretty low, today. Fortunately, I already have him on CW. He uploads to LoTW very infrequently. I am waiting on 12m and 10m from him. My pileup tolerance during contests is probably a lot like yours. Two calls and move on. |

EH? what clickys? Quoted:

My God the key clicks are awful today. I hate them, people drive your rigs properly. EH? what clickys? They were so bad for a while earlier that I thought my radio had a problem. Some rigs like an unmodified FT-1000 generate clicks due to poor design. |

Just worked AA9A. Nice antenna setup http://www.qrz.com/db/AA9A |

Damn, I can't imagine what a K3 with that kind of antenna structure would be like. I want to be like him when I grow up. Just worked him |

I'm trying to pull Arkansas out of the mud on 28.001.0. I tried earlier, but no joy. Reminds me of a line from an old song.....I never would have made it through the Arkansas mud if I hadn't been a riding that Tennessee stud. ![]() I hear him 53N but he can't hear me at all. |

I'm not a contester. The only ones I'll make a real effort at are the VHF ones focusing on 6m and 2m, and Rookie Roundup adding another contact for their log. Really enjoyed RR when I had rookie status. Otherwise I use contests to get the next new DX, fill a slot in the band/state page, or work a state or DX on a new mode.
Glanced at my 10m tally earlier in the week. Kinda pathetic. 38 states confirmed but 10 or less on CW or Phone. DX count is 88. Hmmm. Work the contest when I can break away from home commitments concentrating on bagging states CW and Phone. Was able to get away for 1.5 hours Saturday. Made around 20 QSOs on CW with most being new states. Was able to get back on after dark but the band was dead. Hopped on 40m and got a couple new states for 40m Digital. Still looking for HI on 40m for #50. Will get back on Sunday to see if I can bag a few more. |
