| My shack is detached from the house. On a net last night and discovered I had company! Killed a 37" rattlesnake that found it's way in. |

I knew I would get a "pic or it did not happen" pretty quickly but I had not moved the pics from the phone. Got a photobucket thing just for this, hopefully I did it right! http://i794.photobucket.com/albums/yy222/wallym777/th_IMG_0993_zps47d82335.jpg So what did you do the deed with? Aside from the red stain it appears pretty much intact in that small pic. At lest to my aging eyes... |

Ok, I laughed a lot at this one. |
| To answer, first thought was a handgun and rat shot, then decided I did not want to mess up my floor or wall, so, a hoe was it. temps were in the 50s, snake was not aggressive till the first wack, and there were several wacks, right behind the head till it mostly stopped moving. As an aside, it was still twitching a bit the next afternoon, nervous system still intact. Also good thing my dog was not with me, he was in the house. But I have since discovered dogs have a degree of immunity to snake bite, but can still get sick and possible die. However, there is a shot that boosts the immunity even more. One shot, another 4 weeks later, then one per year unless the dog is in the woods a lot, then every 6 months. Winston got his shot this morning, was only $22 from my vet. |
