Hi All, I have always been a Kenwood guy with a few Icom rigs in the mix and am now looking at the Yaesu FTdx 1200. What is stopping me are the service horror stories regarding Yaesu. As it is, the FTdx 1200 has great specs ( A clean TX and good receiver.) as shown in a very thorough technical review by a guy named Adam Farson AB4OJ FTdx1200 test Anybody have any recent Yaesu experience to recount, good or bad, every data point  will be appreciated.

I suspect YAESU factory service is comparable to the other major brands

Eham reviews show 3.5/5

I know a ham who had his 7800 repaired for $35

I have had to utilize Yaesu service twice and Kenwood service once (I think). Both met my expectations with no real complaints.

They are no worse than Icom and Kenwood. Reliability and quality of HF rigs is top notch.
Why not a ftdx3000?

Hi Gyprat, The FTdx 1200 is much more affordable for me and has better TX Imd than the 3K. I plan on adding the FFT-1 board right off along with the Amplifier and packet cable. Thanks for your input, gotta run.

When i got it it had no TX audio
The seller offred my money back
I returned it
Later.....he wrote back and said YAESU repaired it for $35
He was happy with the repairs and decided to keep the rig

Hi All, I just received a new FTDX-1200, the FFT-1 board and the Amp cable are back ordered. It's been a trip learning my way around the new rig. 73 es TNX for the help. Rob
