So, now I need to get a rotator ordered... only putting a Hex beam on, so light duty will be plenty... Anybody particularly happy with one they have experience with ??? |

SCW... the Hex beam only weighs 15 lbs or so... will definitely check that out.. and thanks Elijah1... have been looking at the light duty Yaseu, but I'm not sure what kind of mast I will have to work with on this thing yet... I think it is in the 1.5" range...

OP, Which Aluma Tower did you buy? How much did it cost? Did you buy direct? Thanks, Bru I ordered the T-135... crank up to 32'... add the short mast and the antenna should sit around 38 ft When it is lowered, it sits about 15' above grade... just above the second story deck I'm attaching it to. Make it disappear...
I ordered it directly from Aluma Tower... it comes with a base, attachment hardware for the deck, galvanized braided guy cables ( in a bag) and auger type guy stakes Total package was just under $4k, minus shipping. After the last lightning strike, I need something that I can lower and reduce the visibility... kind of an effort to make the neighbors happy. So, I'll just crank it up when I'm using it. I'll try to post pictures of the install, once I get it up. |

I would stay clear of he TV antenna rotors, unless you want to keep climbing that tower. YAESU G-450A This is he golden standard of small rotors, check he reviews over at E ham. I 2nd that for a light rotor on a tower. I love my G-1000DXA that I just put up and would buy a 450 if I needed a lighter one, which I may before too long for another project. |
