A couple of weeks ago, I worked a station in Samoa, on 15m CW.  I promptly logged it, and uploaded it to LoTW.  But then a funny thing happened.  It never showed up in his Club Log, even though he had uploaded to it several times since our QSO.  I figured that my call sign must have gotten screwed up somewhere along the way.  It happens.

Now, it's not a big deal,  but I was quite positive about the QSO, so the misconnect just seemed a little strange. Of course, you can't delete an entry from LoTW, but I did go back and remove the QSO from my log book.  Then, I totally forgot about it.

Fast forward to today.....The QSL shows up in LoTW. I check his CLub Log, and there I am.

A nice surprise,  and I'm off to put the QSO back in my log book.

Sweet!  Good thing it came through while you still remembered it!

Also - the island contacts are always fun ones!

He has been a little "weird" with his uploads. I think some of his operations must be portable or mobile, paper logged. I've worked him on 5 bands now, and sometimes QSLs showed up in weird order for me too.  I think it's a situation where WE need his QSL far more than HE really needs ours.

Yeah, the portable/paper log  probably makes the most sense. I  worked a DXpedition in Samoa a couple of times earlier this year, but still haven't received the QSL card, yet.  So this was a all time new QSL.

The island contacts do seem to be my favorites.

One of the QSL headaches which plagues QSL managers and LOtW is that it depends on the operator to download to them periodically.

While I have had some QSL managers get nack to me riki tik, the same manager with a different operator takes months because the operator hasn't done his part.

In this case maybe he partially downloaded. Who knows? Maybe it was another log on another computer.

There are a shitload of reasons for that.

I have to admit that I was thinking to myself....

"How could I not be in the log???  That was a perfect 599."

Holy cow!  I just got another one.

Several months ago, I contacted French Guiana during a contest.  It was on SSB, and was another contact that I knew was legitimate.  But even though he has uploaded to LoTW many, many times since that contest, I never got the QSL.  I figured it had gotten lost somehow.....until today.
