Since I'm running a Flex-1500 I'd like to have a Software TNC
(plus the fact I don't want to have to hook up a Hardware one).

Any Recommendations?

Thank you

PS: for HF Packet

I've tried AGW Packet Engine.  Didn't care for it.  Rather just use a real TNC, I have a couple dozen at home, so it's not like I can't find one.   Plus, being able to leave that on, w/o the computer (in my case) is a plus.

Need to sell off some PK-232's tho.

Soundmodem on linux, but that's not really an option I suppose.

Agwpe. It is a royal pain to set up at times. Once you get it set up it works great. So well that when you need to set it up again you will forget how you did it and go through all the motions again...

I haven't found any software that is as good as an old school TNC IMO. Like mentioned above, once the TNC is set up, you can let it run "stand alone" (hooked to rig of course) in "mailbox mode" and recieve messages when you are away from the shack.

I have tried and tried to get soundmodem to be more accurate. It works fine but isn't as good as a <$50 TNC. AGWPE seemed to have a bunch of cool features but was a pain to get setup. I set it up on a Windows virtual box and then used its server to connect via linux. But that was just to many resources for something that can be down by a pic chip

MultiPSK now has integrated SDR support. You might check it out.
