What would be the benefit of using an alt-azimuth mount over an equitorial mount? or is this not for satellite comms?

We used a mag loop at field day and I was very impressed with it, the efficiency is impressive considering its size.

I am thinking about making one myself soon, and I like the idea of being able to change the takeoff angle with the rotors as well.

I'm a big fan of magnetic loops, but I'm skeptical of helically loading one.

I need to get updated photos of mine, I've chopped it down to 6' x 6' and I've moved the feed point to the side so I can have the tuner on a desk.

30m and 40m.  I could work higher bands with smaller loops.
