Anyone transmitting on WSPR?  I'm really enjoying seeing all the hits I'm getting even with my crappy antenna, alot from the left coast but some as far as New Hampshire.

Why play WSPR when you can make contacts with JT65 or JT9?

Trof  and HI is very rare on JT65. So I think you would be very successful with it.

Don't let BD hear you!

Op one of the members here has done some crazy stuff with low power wspr. don't quote me but I think it was 1,000,000 miles per watt

I was awhile back, but never saw any hits at all.  Gave up.

I plan on doing it with my softrock txrx ensemble as soon as I finish the kit

I use it every once in a while to test antenna changes.  The upside of WSPR is you can let it run for a day all by itself to caputre changes in propagation when the sun moves...

Transmitting 5w signal on 20m with LNR (PAR) End Fedz EF-10/20/40 MKII antenna.  No tuner.  Starting at 2013-06-27 23:36Z.

Ha!  Thanks.  That End Fedz antenna is one of the best things I've done for my station for $75.

I guess I just don't see the point of WSPR....its not a 2-way QSO.

You don't see the value as a tool for visually depicting propagation patterns?  How about for testing different antennas?  Oh yeah, it's FUN, too!  Remember when this hobby was fun?

I just downloaded WSPR a little while ago.  I've been drinking beer, eating Cheetos and messing around with WSPR and decided to try 10M because I could... imagine my surprise when I made a 10,000 mile trip to Australia with 5W on 10 meters

edit: with a K index of 5

WSPR is a hoot, really enjoy playing with that...  bounce back and forth between that and JT65...

From HI, I bet you would stay very busy with JT65....

On JT65 I had a QSO with a guy in Australia, he was operating 10W from a loop sitting on his back patio...    JT and WSPR are a never ending list of surprises...

1 million miles per watt is soooooo 2012.
2 million miles per watt is the new 1 million miles per watt.

Warriors BD, come out to play!

I finally figured out how to get my IC-718/HRD/Signalink USB to transmit on WSPR.  Don't ask me how I did it, it was all trial and error in the WSPR settings.

Now we'll see if anyone can hear me.

Anyone run an FT-857D and Signalink?  I can not seem to get WSPR working.  Cat control seems to work fine, tuning RF Gain and the RX on my signalink to get db down to zero in wspr.  Dont see much on the waterfall, and I dont think anyone is receiving me.  My settings

D4 really helped thanks.  Tested for  awhile, I need to find out why I am mostly deaf on this end.    OCFD in my attic is my antenna and tweaking the settings is tricky for me.  I could hear two of these contacts.  All the others could hear me.

OK, got JT-65 up and running this evening.  I'm going to let it run a while to see what type of contacts I get.

LOL, I've gotten myself into a pileup from Japan callers.

Changed my radio digi settings from User-U to User-PSK-31 and started hearing and decoding many signals.

Cool contact from Wake Island.  Screenshot

Question on power settings, my radio is set at its minimum 5w, wspr at 37db (5w) and I left my signalink at what it has always been.

If I want to lower power, will just adjusting wspr software do it?  Or combine that with lowering the tx on my signalink?

Near as I can tell the WSPR software settings do nothing but set reporting info.  I'm pretty sure power output is a combination of settings on your transceiver and the Signalink TX dial.

Try something similar to this setup from 2010.  Still use these approx settings on 2 Icom radios.  You need to find your audio IN and OUT and what COM# for the PTT port.  CAT not needed.

Just close the Station setup parameters and move the mouse down to the bottom window and wait a few minutes.  It should RX and then TX.

Ahhh.  Patience is a virtue my friend.

I see it saying receiving but is it supposed to change my radio's freq?

Forgot to set it to USB-D1 as well.

Great!  You may need to adjust RX for "0" dB noise.
