Looks like the sun is gettin pissed... 3 X-class flares in the last 24 hours: X1.7, X2.8, and X3.2
http://www.solarham.net/ Not earth directed CME's but it is moving into the visible region soon... last few months have been relatively quiet but it looks like that is changing... I moniter this map alot which gives the maximum usable frequency for a 3000km path and D layer absorption... the D layer absorption is the highest I have seen it in a long time http://www.spacew.com/www/realtime.php |

Hmmm. I have the next two days off. 10m mobile/portable, here I come! This is what I am thinking... I may throw the good ol' Radio Shack HTX-10 in the car... The activity is good to see because for a solar maximum the solar activity has been fairly low, I keep hearing the stories from my elmers about doing 10 meter DXCC last solar cycle with ease (and some of them were QRP) This will probably make the 80m afcom net hard tonight though |
