OP Mode and scroll down to Freq Analysis and WWV..
How do I work this mode and what would it be used for? I assume frequency stability ?? Thanks in advance. Mark |

WWV
The WWV mode is used to measure the offset of the sound card oscillator. It does this by comparing the timing loop for the sound card measurements against the clock tick signal that is transmitted by WWV and WWVH. FA Fldigi can be used to accurately measure the frequency of a remote signal that is transmitting a steady carrier.
Not sure if that'll help, I personally didn't take the time to read it all, but it's from the FLDIGI site, so it must be what it does :) Hope it helps! I had never noticed, but will go back and mess with it more when I get time to get back in the shack. |

Yes, WWV is used for fine tuning your frequency inside of fldigi's modems (there's settings to tweak it).
Basically you tune to WWV, put it into WWV mode and leave it on a while, and you can fine tune and also see any drift you might have. http://www.w1hkj.com/FldigiHelp-3.20/DigiWWV.html |
