My uncle/elmer told me as soon as we move back home that he wants me to take over his two repeaters. I just got back from a trip there and took some pictures to show everyone here.

Here is the outside and antennas. The building is a 20' shipping container with surplus lockers/cabinets inside. The closest tower has the 2m/1.25m/70cm antennas and the far tower contains an antenna for the local volunteer fire dept. And yes I know it needs mowed.

Here are the repeaters, The first locker has a 2m and 70cm  setup. the black Motorola's are a back up repeater that is in place while the main 2m gets worked on. There is also a kenwood radio used as a remote base or something, i have never seen it on.

Then the middle locker with the home brew 220 repeater left to my uncle by a silent key. The black filters in the bottom are for 144.330 the backup repeater when the backup isnt being used as the main

In the back there is some more junk and antennas  and the FD repeater.

The whole setup is powered 100% by solar and batteries.

When I takeover I plan on organizing the wires and making laminated diagrams for everything. The wire is overkill in most places just a mess.

It overlooks this valley an has another valley behind it but the trees where in the way of a picture. The site is about as BFE as you can get. It has been on the air for almost 10 years with changes here and there.

So does this count as my EmComm box

The junker chest freezer battery box is a particularly nice touch...

Thats cool. Thanks for posting!

Is he using separate transmit and receive antennas for the repeaters or putting it through 1 antenna using the duplexer/cavities? I only ask because I see several antennas outside.

Looks gtg.  We had a crew up this last Saturday pulling the weeds on one of the commercial sites we are at.  On most of the sites that are at are commercially owned and they are a little pickier about things then what you are showing because of how much equipment is on each site.  Diagramming the wiring is a good idea - take advantage of your uncle while you can to elmer you.

Tonight at our training meeting we set up our portable equipment in a park.  Made a hf contact and then set up our airmail station and sent a couple of emails.  Antenna was a g5 in nvis configuration..

Foxxz - the multiple antennas are phased together. I'm still learning about how those work but it makes them directive with gain, in all directions.

SCW - those aren't any coastal hills. The are from back home in 5 country.

The wiring is safe but as you can see its everywhere. The container has probably had 10 different repeaters and each time it adds more wires. Our other site is at the foot of a forestry tower with commercial power and battery only backup. Its a little higher and has a good shot into the major town in the area. The downside to that is we take a backseat to the needs of the forestry who has a dozen of their own antennas.

The deep freeze works great. The back has a vent that goes out and above the container with a weather head at top. It helps keep them cool as well as vent gas
