I am trying to adapt a HMN9053E Motorola speaker mic to a Yaesu VX-8GR HT.

The Yaesu uses a 4 pole 3.5mm plug that shares a common ground between PTT, speaker, and mic.

The Motorola uses a 6 wire setup and has an internal circuit board.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Ideas??? Yes just buy one for the yeasu.

I know thats not what you want to hear but you open a can of worms trying to adapt different setups. The only reason Im telling you is because I tried setting my Invisio M3 up to work on my HT and it was way more then what I thought would be speaker + > speaker +, Ground > Ground ETC ETC.

You have different impedance values as well as if the mic requires power.

If you do somehow get it be sure to post pics!

I have the Yaesu one, but its very small and Im not sure it will last.

I want to put this radio on my plate carrier, so it will be in a dusty, dirty, hard use environment.

Ill try to get a second Motorola speaker mic and rip it apart and see what happens.
