Wanting to learn code and would like to set something up with a iambic keyer, ideas?

Do you already own a key, keyer, or radio with a built-in keyer?

Practice CW with Paddle

Disclaimer:  I've never used an iambic paddle, just a straight key.

If you already have a rig, what kind is it?  I am pretty sure that we can figure out how to turn off the transmitter so you can practice.

Starting out with nothing right now. I have 2m/440 mobile and HT but nothing in HF.

Heathkit (made) and MFJ make external keyer units that will work with any rig and IIRC they have a built in oscillator so you can practice sending. However, sending is the easy part, copying is the trick. If you are looking for a rig with a built in keyer, then the sky is the limit as I think most newer rigs have this feature built in.

Not related to hardware, however...  Just came across K7QO's FREE to download CW course.  Google it!  Also, LWCO.net.

Get a Pico Keyer Plus and an American Morse DCP paddle and you'll be practicing for less than $75 (after you build the keyer, anyway).

If you ever plan to do any cw  contesting, you would likely need a winkey

Cool thing about the winkey, you set your desired send speed, via the knob, and the winkey sends consistent speed whether your are calling CQ from the computer or replying from your paddles...

The K1EL winkeyer has a built in piezo and you can use it to practice..   fun project to solder up as well..

I have used one of these before.  I think it is an inexpensive way for you to get into code.
