Looks like it will be over North America tonight. I have no idea if they'll be awake but I'm gonna try for a quick QSO.(<–– forgive me if I have the lingo wrong, still new to amatuer radio.) |

From what I hear, passes during school hours are a good time, as the astronauts will often work other stations before and after a scheduled contact with a school. Of course, you have to be available during the week day for that.
If you just want to see if you can find and track the space station, you can always listen to the APRS frequency during a pass. If you haven't already, you might check out issfanclub.com. |

Quoted: I have the ISS set in my mobiles scan. I have heard them break squelch. I have never heard them though. I really want to work the ISS. I use this page for tracking what others are hearing. Looks like they have been active lately. Where/When they are heard are a whole different question. I usually listen on 145.825 and 145.800. If you hear 825 like a fax (packet) then they are not even listening. Once I was on 825, hear packet a little then nothing. Switched over to 145.800 and there they were on voice. It is fun. |

Well, I got more this time then I did last time. I heard what I'm assuming was their packet transmission line on 145.825. Dual tone's heard. Tried calling CQ 3 times on 144.490 with nothing heard on the downlink (145.800).
Oh well, at least I know I'm picking them up... |
