I'd like to setup my Kenwood TS-570D to be computer controlled as well as maybe do some digital modes. It appears that Kenwood doesn't support the 64-bit operating platform I'm running on all 4 of my computers. Short of buying ANOTHER computer(don't want to do this), is there a third party software I can run to control my 570?
Any digital mode software recommendations are welcome as well. |

If you're running on Windows, I can think of a couple of options:
Option A - Look at Ham Radio Deluxe. It supports a wide range of radios (including your Kenwood), and runs fine on 64-bit Windows. http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/ Option B - if you're running Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate on any of your 64-bit computers then you can download "Windows XP Mode" which is a virtual 32-bit XP environment. You can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx If you are running Win7, but not pro / ent / ult, then you can 'electronically' upgrade your version of windows - which will then allow you to install XP Mode. I hope this helps... |

Can you use the 32bit emulation mode for your OS (Windows?) RCP-2 from Kenwood won't even let me install. Boo. Have you looked at the Ham Radio Deluxe software that I linked above (its free)? If you do, you will probably no longer care about getting the Kenwood software to work I've been using HRD & its digital modes for about a year, and its a top notch program. Since your were also interest in digital mode program recommendations, this sounds like the perfect fit; as it does both. (...just wanted to make sure this didn't get lost in the shuffle of all the talk about 32-bit modes and emulation software.) |

RCP from Kenwood is of no concern anymore.
