| So our local hamradio club had its annual tailgate hamfest last night. It was not very big, and it was kind of warm, but there were refreshments and cookies, which was a good deal in its own right. The great score was a Clear Speech base unit. The condition is less than perfect, and the previous owner has modified it to have a headphone jack and switch on the front cover, but for $15.00 I am not sure how I could pass it up! It works fine, and is a great addition to my shack. Love how well it cleans up noise on the band. |

I've seen those, and my first thought was that I needed to add a switch and earphone jack.
Why the manufacturer does not do this from the factory, I don't know. I have the CLR-SPKR from West Mountain Radio, and they have a 1/8" earphone jack on the back so that you can use cans and still take advantage of the DSP in the speaker. |

Got to use it tonight on my 160m windom for the QSO party. It worked very well. |
