| I am assisting with a field day operation in Greencastle Indiana for the Putnam County EOC. It is located in western Indiana. This is the first year that the group is having a field day station. This is a group of mainly new hams and we are spinning up a pretty good emcomm group. I would like to invite anyone here that would be interested in operating or curious about what it is about to drop me a pm and I can give you directions. If there are any hams that would like to operate just let me know I have a schedule with open times all over it. I will be there nearly the entire 24 hour period. With this being a new group with only a few experienced hams I would like to get as many operators there as possible. We will have local elected officials, media, food and somewhere to rest if you want to go marathon with the operation. This will be in a EOC environment that will be air conditioned and have everything ready to go and set up by the start of the event. |
Perhaps a thread should be dedicated to the different organized Field Days. I'm coordinating the UARC Field Day in Utah. UARC is one of Utah's oldest groups and yet has a lot of new blood lately. In addition to the old hams helping the new hams this year I have also gotten a promise from Goalzero to attend our Field Day bringing some of their equipment to try to run one of our stations as long as they can (they are hoping the whole time, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they can). Not trying to hijack the thread, but since I can't attend yours I wonder if we can't make a thread for all the different groups to identify where they are at.
