While there is a plethora of information out there about commercial radios I am having to search for information about PRC radios used by the different militaries.  Would it be possible to fill that gap here?  Currently I am leaning towards a PRC 320 as an addition to the radios I'm buying/building now.  Perhaps there is comparable out there.

You might want to join the Yahoo Group armyradios.

Yeah, I don't do Yahoo groups but maybe I will see what I can find out without joining a Yahoo group.

Anyone else's input would be appreciated.  These would be the best picture thread here, but I'm guessing they don't generate as much revenue as building guns.

the Yahoo groups can be a wealth of info, I am member of more than one of the radio specific groups

Good to know, I will certainly reconsider my prejudice.  I'm really leaning towards a PRC 320 and may make that my mobilbe/base station to supplement my handheld (Yeasu VX-8DR).

They are limited, but good for what they can do. Make SURE that the one you receive has a working bandswitch. It runs at 24vdc, but will operate down to 15 volts. built like a tank.

I'm a General-class ham and a Soldier, so I collect army radios.  Here's my PRC-1099 (HF manpack):

I also have:

PRC-127 (VHF handheld)
PRC-25 (VHF manpack)
PRC-77 (VHF manpack)
PRT-4 / PRR-9 (VHF - the first squad-level radio)
RT-524 (VHF vehicle radio)
AN/GRR-5 (HF receiver)
PRC-47 (the first HF "manpack," though it took one to carry the radio and another to carry the accessories)

and a bunch of other shit...
