I passed my technician and general tests on the 12th.
maybe I'm a little impatient, but how long does it take to see your call sign on ULS? |
Took 7 days for my Tech as they mailed via USPS the test results.(Snail Mail in 2009, really now ) General was until the afternoon of the Monday following the Saturday i took the test the Colvet VE team uses email to send results to the FCC. If he emailed before 11am on a business day he would have callsigns by 3pm the same day.

First let me say Congrats! I took my test last month and had the update in the ULS on thursday. That was an ARRL VEC. Stan, may I ask who did your test? OP, my club (ARRL VEC) seems to have a turn around of about 3 or 4 days. We test on Sunday, drop it in the mail that day, in ULS Wednesday or Thursday most likely the latter. Also, Congrats. |

Ummmm The Head VEC was named Tim, I am not sure of the call sign or last name. I took the test in Hampton |
I think it took about two weeks for my Novice to come through (man, THAT was a long time ago.. and I'm not even that old!). About two weeks of signing /AG - I upgraded at the Dayton Hamvention so there was a huge batch to process. About a week of signing /AE. I took the extra exam in a barn on field day

Hmm - seems an unusually long time for Speed and Mike.
Maybe PRB wasn't funded in the continuing resolution? About 2 years ago my Extra cred was on ULS within about 3 days. But I remember 1978 it took months. And in 1982 it took months to get my upgrade ticket, then another couple months to get one with the right callsign on it! |
|
Damn, my current two weeks is nothing by comparison!
It just kind of sucks that I have a vx-170 sitting here, and I can't Use it without a callsign. ETA just checked the mailbox, and my license came today! funny it never showed up in ULS! Anyway, I'm KF5KET. See you all on the air soon! |

Y'all have it good. My first license took nearly 3 months, subsequent upgrade w/ callsign change nearly as long. 3 months was a LONG time to play SWL at the club station with HF, beams etc.
(yeah I know... walked both ways uphill to school in the snow, etc etc |
