Just wondering how many would be interested in a thread like this tacked up.  Pretty much whenever we hear something we feel is worth posting, Post a UTC Time in the thread, Call sign, Freq, and notes.  i.e. contest, CQing, Listening '5 up', things like that.  Pretty much a Arfcom DX cluster.

such as what im listening to now.

1802z - RM5D - 14247.5khz - calling CQ Contest

Anyone else like this idea?

Oh, I thought you were looking for me...

A DX spotting thread would be fine except that stations in one area might not hear the DX station you have spotted. DX clusters used to be localized on 2m packet..(gee I miss those) so most everyone connected to the cluster could hear the DX.
It would still be worth a test run to see how it would work on ARF.

If people had their state selected in their info, it wouldn't be too bad.  But would still be off a bit.  Worse case, you tune in, listen, and if nothing, you move on.   And yea, i miss the packet cluster days.  There is one locally but it gets its feeds from the net, so the info is really scattered.

Would this have an advantage to the various spotting sites out there already?

I have used DX Summit for many years...
Looks a bit different these days, but works good.

Would it be possible to spot ARFCOM types with that in the comments?

Something like XX7XXX ARFCOM 59 in NJ

Just thinking....

It'd be possible, but i know there are several like myself that like to keep our calls secret.   There is already a thread someplace on here for 'skeds' or 'listening to xx.xxx now for calls'.
