I got the chance to buy a TS2000 for $1200.  Should I pull the trigger?  It's a year old and very lightly used.  I know the guy who has it, and know it works.  He is selling out.

It's a nice radio. Our ARES group has 4 of them. Not a great price break but not bad for a year-old radio. I'm sure you'd be happy so long as portability isn't a big concern.

The TS-2000 is one of the radios I was seriously considering, but I got a very nice deal on a Ten-Tec Jupiter.

I know that Kenwood guys love their radios.  They get a lot of respect, and few complaints.

Sounds like a good price to me.  It sells new for about $1450.00 - $1500.00.

I would remind the guy that you can get one new for $1450.00 (Ham Radio Outlet price) and offer him $1100.00 (25% off the new price).

He has a nice Kenwood desk mike, and I was going to offer him 1200 cash for both.  What's the worst he could say.  No.

There's one on ebay right now, that is at 1180, and then there's shipping involved.   Plus I don't know the guy on ebay.

The Kenwood desk mic is $174 new at Gigaparts so that seems like a fair offer for both.

I probably wouldn't buy something like that off eBay. There's a guy on the IC-7000 list that just got scammed.

I agree about buying it off ebay.  One thing ebay is good for is judging prices.  Things pretty much sell for what they are worth.
