Well maybe I will have to make a drive if it's nice out during field day and see you at LTC.
The Ozaukee Radio Club I believe is working out of Lazy Day's Camp Ground Ozaukee Radio Club 1475 Lakeview Rd West Bend, WI 43.459995,-88.113467 Sorry I don't know how to figure out the Grid for you...... I have to work my "normal job" during Field Day so I probably will pop in and out at our site to see what is going on.... ETA: website for club |

I'll be working from the park where our club house is! Club house is a rock building built in 1936 by the CCC. It belongs to the city and we have had it for over 40 years! The park around the clubhouse works very well, lots of open space, good trees to hang antennas from, access to "facilities" if needed and if it gets "nasty" we can go into the clubhouse and continue to work off battery power!!
QTH: Roswell, NM Club call: W5ZU Pecos Valley Amateur Radio Club web-site:http://www.qsl.net/w5zu/ This isn't exact, but close: 33.429298, -104.518997 73's and hope to work some of you! Sarge |

Myself and 4 other hams operating 5a this year...at a remote, secret loation up in the high country of Arizona. 7400ft elevation and 100 foot tall trees make for a good Field Day. We'll be using my call so keep an ear open for us! Hey...make sure you get pictures of the six element 10m beam that one of you will put up! |

One thing we've been fortunate with... a very cooperative local government.
The Mayor did a photo op with us in his office, signing a proclaimation of Ham Radio Week, acknowledging the important asset of ham radio to the community during emergencies. Almost daily newspaper photos and articles leading up to Field Day. Additional displays: Coast Guard harbor patrol boat on trailer, with some Coast Guard personell present. Homeland Security communications trailer, with antenna mast telescoped up, tours in the trailer for the public. Some police, fire, and ambulance equipment parked around. A kind of general Emergency Preparedness display. And lots of support and cooperation from the City. "What do you need? What can we do for you?" to the point of making us feel we are imposing. Just can't ask for more than that! Other cooperation, other times... though we have our own 5 kw generator, Homeland Security notified us of a lightly used 25 kw diesel generator being taken out of another building that they will GIVE us. In a disaster, we'll be able to operate the entire building where the club station is located. Bucket truck (if available, a little advance notification and scheduling) for antenna work. Our repeater antenna on their tower at City Hall. Repeater located in City Hall. Maintenance also done on our gear when the City's is worked on. Good working relationship with all parties involved, first name basis. Plus we have several deputies that are ham club members. This all really contributes to a good Field Day. |

We'll be operating 4A or 5A (can't remember which) in Deep Creek Lock Park, Chesapeake Virginia. It's a club event, and we'll be on the air with the club call, W4CAR. We've got a really great relationship with the city - we keep doing public service stuff, they keep taking good care of us. That means we're allowed to spend the night in the park, among other things. I've volunteered myself and my equipment to run a 6m station, which is pretty much new territory for me (I've got exactly one (1) 6m contact in my log, and it was from a field day weekend a couple years ago!), so I hope to be busy with that in between socializing, eating BBQ, and enjoying cold beverages. Field day in Chesapeake is a very nice time. Hope I see you all on the air! I'm writing down call signs of people who posted here so I can try and remember them come field day weekend.
edit: Grid square is FM16tr, if you were wondering. |

Yep the local repeaters have been very busy with prep chater.
The funnest thing to listen to was one that was building a high power "potato" gun to launch lines for antennas . But in stead of a potato he had mad a rocket shaped projectile ...... I cant wait to see it . |

Truck is almost all loaded up. Thinking about heading out to look for a nice chair. Too easy this year. The Sammamish ARES/RACES club (W7SRG) will be running FD from my QTH, using call W7S. Tents, BBQ ribs, burgers, brats, beers, deviled eggs, shooters, muffins. Oh yeah, we're running 4F, using emergency generator power during the daylight hours and batteries at night. |

Truck is almost all loaded up. Thinking about heading out to look for a nice chair. You're way ahead of me. I haven't brought a single thing out to the truck yet. Hell I haven't even really decided what I'm bringing. FD has taken a backseat this year to my classes and getting ready for my Alaska vacation that starts Monday. Luckily my club operates just fine without me. All I have to do is bring my generator and an appetite. Hawk I'll be listening for W4LCA tomorrow from W4CAR. |

I am going to visit and may help operate TEXAS DX SOCIETY station in Tomball tomorrow but I have a job to get out of the way first thing in the morning.
Since I am not into the contest thing I don't know what help I could be but it will be fun to see some old friends and bull shit a little |

Works great. http://home.comcast.net/~gregbell/Antenna Launcher.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~gregbell/Antenna Launcher 2.jpg Outstanding! |

Well, after losing out on three other primo locations for various reasons, we will be set up by the lake, in the judging stands they use for the boat races. (We're talking big V-8 - or bigger - alky burning hydros, various classes)
There's a big grassy area to set up the antennas, and the judges stands should get us up into a little breeze as well as provide shade. No chance of walk by traffic as we had last year. We were in the city park and had a number of people stop by to see what was going on, including a nice couple from out of town, both the husband and wife had recently gotten their Tech tickets. Instead of the club's generator, we'll give mine a workout. And we'll use the Field Day antennas I built this past fall and spring (one mine, one for the club). See you on the air! |
|
We are set up in N/E Bakersfield at the park across from Bakersfield College. (5A)
35.24.40 N / 118.58.02 W Club Call W6LIE I am KI6HOJ (Tech) (Taking my general after lunch ) The AN/PRC 104 radio works great, I, er, we will make some attempts after lunch/test and see who we get. |
| Went out and helped this morning set up some antennas before the event at our location......One of the guys at our site had a Jeep Wrangler with a winch on the front did that make setting up towers very easy! I was doing it wrong the whole time in the Army should have gone and got a wrecker and winched those bad boys up......LOL I had to work at 3pm local time so I didn't get to see much operating going on and have a Graduation party tomorrow so probably won't make it back out again. But it was fun to see and help with. |
