Hi Folks:
I have a Radio Shack simplex repeater that I am trying to interface with a TYPE ACCEPTED PX-777. In my reading, it appears that the PX-777 has the same mic/spkr jacks as the Kenwood HTs. So far searching the 'net has got me only a short way toward understanding how I need to go about this. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I realize this is probably simple, beginner's stuff, and besides the obvious (getting my project to work) I'd like to learn more about this stuff. I am a little embarrassed that I'm a General and I have only the most tenious grip on electronics. Thanks for any advice you may be able to give. Stay Safe, AGreyMan KB9*** |

THE HT IS POWERED WITH 12 VOLT POWER SUPPLY SO AS TO GET FULL 5 WATTS OUTPUT POWER. THE REPEATER ON THE LEFT IS FROM RADIO SHACK. AAA BATTERIES 4 TOTAL POWER THE UNIT. IN EVERY DAY USE OF THE UNIT WE FOUND IT PERFORMED BEST HOOKED TO RADIO SHACK 12 VOLT SUPPLY. THE UNIT WAS THEN CAPABLE OF A FULL 30 SECONDS OF RETRANSMISSION. LESS TIME WAS EXPERIENCED WITH THE 4 AAA BATTERIES. IN OUR AREA WE FIRST USED THESE REPEATERS IN 2000. LAUNCHED IN A HELIUM BALLOON TO ALTITUDES ABOVE 80,000 FT. WE MADE CONTACTS UP TO ABOUT 500 MILES USING A 500 MILLI WATT HT. BECAUSE THE REPEATER RECEIVES YOUR TRANSMISSION AND THEN REBROADCASTS IT BACK OUT OVER THE AIR WAVES SO YOU HEAR YOURSELF. WE HAVE TRAINING NETS ON 146.46 AFTER THE WEDNESDAY 9:00 PM NET ON 146.82. WHEN THE REGULAR NET IS OVER WE QSY TO 146.46 SIMPLEX FOR THE TRAINING NET. USE IT WITH FAMILY FRS RADIOS, CHECK IT OUT HERE. |
