I've been out of the hobby for about 10 years and am looking to get back into it. Can anyone tell me where to find reliable batteries for the old Radio Shack HTX 202 or recomend a good HT in the $100-150 range??  Thx!

Thx for the reply!  Like I said I've been out of the hobby a long time! How will the radio perform with the 13.2V vs the 7.2V batteries. I don't remember what batteries came with the radio. They got separated from the radio during my divorce and have not a clue.....

Icom IC-V8 or something in the V series. the Yeasu radios are nice as well. are you looking for 2m, 70cm, or both?

full 6 watts? 5 watts? on 12v pack and 2.5-3 on 7.2 IIRC.
Icom IC-02at batts will work.
