Not 100% Ham Radio related, so perhaps this belongs elsewhere, as I am in the midst of another NIXIE Tube project.  (The picture is a similar project worth checking out, but I am using the ArduiNIX board series, which is different).

Nixie tubes are so cool. I had a couple of old Heathkit frequency counters that used them. Old school collides with new school type thing. I gave those counters away...
I can't believe how spendy they are nowadays.

They actually were most costly in dollars adjusted for inflation back in their heyday.

I've been buying mine from the former Soviet Block countries for fairly nominal costs, though I have bought 20-40 of an item at a time.

The VFD low voltage display tubes are similarly very cool to use in projects and quite inexpensive!

I still have some of those somewhere. Talk about steam-punk frequency readouts.

Awesome. Thought about one of the kits myself, but a little spendy for me.

(saw on your page, do you still have the Henry 2k available?)

The Henry is available - I have in heated storage, tubes out ready to transport.  I would need movers gear to get it into my shack, so it has remained a stored-spare.  I'm good on QRZ if you want to have a look.

Wow... who on earth needs that kind of time accuracy, outside of NASA or the NSA?

i have two "clocks" with Allan deviation (Tau) of better than 10e-12 from 1 to 10,000s.

Nixie Tubes themselves are just displays.

Highly accurate clocks are a whole 'nother thing and do have huge uses for the experimenter.

Good chance you have used clocks with higher than customary accuracy without knowing it if you have used GPS or similar systems.

I'd really enjoy having a significantly accurate reference clock like the two mentioned!  yeah!

Ah, you young whipper-snappers and your cutting-edge displays...

Gimme a display that uses 10 neon bulbs, numbered 0 to 9!

My prototype is completed and is now in it's third day of "burn in."

Pictures on my blog shortly.

Have ideas to put some of these to use in the shack doing various display readouts.
