Ok, so I have a military comm s-250 that I pulled some wireing from. I have about 25-30 feet.
This is what I have here How good is this wire? Does it compare to higher end stuff, or more like cheap high loss? |

Does it compare to higher end stuff, or more like cheap high loss? http://www.westernwire.org/CoaxSpecs/WRG05801.pdf summary: it is a 0.200" dia RG58C/U type (20AWG stranded center) 50ohm coax –– this translates into modest performance at HF frequencies (<50MHz) and poor performance at VHF/UHF frequencies (>150MHz). in general, such a cable type would be used for short antenna downleads (less than 10') in mobile applications, interconnection between adjacent equipment, flexible patches, and so forth. it is not usable for VHF/UHF frequencies in lengths longer than what you have –– there is simply too much signal attenuation. ar-jedi |
