The sun is producing a sunspot cluster and some flares. The solar flux is at 72 and 10m should have been open today. Did anyone make any 10m contacts? I had to work...

Not much but better than the last three years!

"Solar activity is at very low levels and the sun will soon be blank as Sunspot 1024 approaches the western limb. The solar flux has dipped below 70."

Darn ... there goes cycle 24 ... and I missed it rehabbing my station's workbench.

No 10 m, but last night I watched a guy work Spain, Italy, France, and Germany via PSK31 on 40 meters.  I could read some of the European side of the QSO.

I just now got an Rx-only eQSL from a ham in Poland, copied me and a ham in Ohio.  She had all the details of both our calls, times, and mode (PSK31).

ETA:   Her name is Barbara.

Gee, I sure hope Barbara is not a guy's name in Polish.

No, it's a YL, says so on the card...

In some countries a person wishing to apply for an amateur radio license must first listen and log QSO's.  The odd number on her eQSL, I found out, is a SWL number.  So, hopefully Barbara will be a ham in the near future.

I had a nice PSK31 QSO to the Azores yesterday afternoon on 20 meters.

I was copying some QSO's from some northeastern ham to France, Netherlands, Finland, getting the US side solidly, but the Euro side was spotty.  Still, it's starting to pick up.
