I know there are several out there, just figured it could also be one more use of the ARF ham forum.

George EI6S has been on last few nights.  I worked him a few nights ago with just 100 w.  Try same freq, around 0500 UTC.  He gets up early for this.

Also worked Ian GM4YSN from Scotland on 40 meters.

Around 04:30 UTC, some guy singsonging in Arabic on 7.198 AM.  News, Brit accent, on 7.145.  Africa?

In the recent past, 40 m had been too noisy during the day, almost dead at night.  It was very noisy last night until about 04:00 UTC, then is quietened down, especially below 7.200 mhz.

One interesting experience, a guy in Colorado was on (5800' mountaintop... he didn't need a tower) and asked the fellow in MD he was talking to that he was going to turn his amp off.  Came back barefoot at 35 watts.  Then turned his amp back on... 1300 watts.  Absolutely no difference.  Sounded good either way.  And not "powerful" but outstanding audio.  He had a Heil mic and 8-band EQ, and the audio quality was as good as any I have ever heard.

Only got Hungary last night. Aside from that I had to talk to US stations.

Picked up Azerbaijan and Svalbard earlier.
