I could use the EXTRA, and pass it on to one of the handfull of other Generals in the Washington Hometown forum hams when Im done. I know we have 4 Generals, and 20 + Techs.
I know that ASG, and JS98010 are both together over in Iraq, and have IM'd me about wanting to get a Tech Lic. |

Tech is simple. simple simple ohms law stuff is about all the math on the tech.
Safety stuff, like a hard had and glasses when working on the tower, avoiding electrical lines, stuff like that. Who is responsible for the operation of the station, def of remote versus automatic, that kind of stuff. I read the Gordon West tech guide through one time and never looked at it again. Went straight to general and extra after that. You can do the qrz online practice exams for a couple weeks and ace the tech. |

For the Tech, go to this page, and download the first link. That is a series of Powerpoint classroom presentations in a zip file. http://www.w5ddl.org/techppt/chapter_pps.htm These jumped my practice test scores from 80-85% up to 95-100%. Here is a good study guide you can download now for Tech: http://abacus.nmsu.edu/~shoran/PDF/techpool_2006.pdf Here is a good study guide you can download now for General: http://abacus.nmsu.edu/~shoran/PDF/General_Pool_2007.pdf Extra study guide: http://abacus.nmsu.edu/~shoran/PDF/Extra%20Class%20Amateur%20Radio%20Course.pdf Here are practice tests you can take, for all classes: http://www.qrz.com/ham/ http://www.radioexam.org/ down the page a bit http://aa9pw.com/radio/ http://www.eham.net/exams/ http://www.w8mhb.com/exam/ |

Lostangel I could use the General manual here. Got my tech last month and HF look interesting so I need to upgrade. IM me with address and it is yours. That should be all 3 books spoken for. Everyone get me their address (R-32 I have yours) and books should go out by Tuesday at the latest. Monday is usually hectic at the office. |
|
Specter I did get your address. I will try to get it out Monday, if not definitely Tuesday. Monday is kinda hectic here most weeks. It's usually hard to get away for longer than a few minutes to get a sandwich lol. But it will go out by Tuesday.
I still have the General study guide available if ant Tech's need it. Patrick |
