Yes, I have three radios I am giving away..possibly more. VHF Motorola Sabers, programmed to your 12 frequencies you request. These radios are ugly, well used, and you will need to replace a knob or two (switches work fine, just need new plastic knobs on the metal shaft), but they will work 100%. I do not have enough chargers to send, but you can buy them on Ebay. I would suggest new batteries as well as these are fairly old. Still, it is a free radio. The catch? They are for new hams on here. The first three people on here who post a brand new callsign issued today (March 20) or later and who have been ARFCOM members for at least 2 weeks... you get radios. So, for you guys sitting on the fence, get off your ass and get to work. |
Not necessarily needed. Find an exam date & location near you QRZ.com practice tests I didn't have a local ham to help me either. I just studied the practice tests at the link above, then found a testing site and date with the other link. |

Tested for my Technician March 5,2008. License posted on ULL March 11,2008. Tested for my General 5 days later March 11,2008 and passed. Tested today March 20, 2008 for my Extra and passed. Just three weeks in all. General hasn't even shown up yet on ULS, heck I haven't even received my Tecnician license in the mail yet. Is that new enough for this giveaway since I don't have any radios of my own yet ? |
Even though it doesn't reflect it on the ULS, it sure feels good to be able to use the /AE......that is whenever I get a radio that can use the Extra bands.....well a radio for any band for that matter. I'll get there sooner or later, just glad the testing is over. ![]() Thanks JaxShooter |
Send me your call and a list of 12 frequencies (include input an output if it is a repeater and the PL) and one will be on its way in a few weeks. |

Guys, sorry for those of you who just recently passed....gotta be passed as of the 20th or later. A retroactive incentive is kinda missing the mark, so to speak. I will have a free radio deal challenge for those who alreday have a ticket coming up soon, however. |
