I just ordered an Okuma Citrix Left Hand casting reel and a C3x rod from Okuma as well.  Rod is a 7' medium fast action although a couple people have told me their more like a medium heavy.  I'm planning on using this for a lot of different type of fishing.  Anything from crank baits, to spinner baits, texas rig, top water frogging, etc.

Anyone used them before?

I'll get a review on here once i've had it for a while.

Pics!

Love this combo.  Extremely sensitive, great backbone for dragging bass through the weeds, and perfectly balanced.  Very happy with the Citrix reel.  I have caught fish top water frogging, texas rigged plastics, and spinner baits so far on this combo.  I don't do a ton of crankbait fishing, so the 7.3 ratio on this reel is fine for me.

Nice rig Nice to see someone else with a lefty baitcaster not many go that way almost everyone has been brainwashed into useing right handers even when everything else they have is lefty.

You're right.  Doesn't make any sense to me. Faster and easier to reel with the left hand. Plus my right hand is better at detecting strikes and better at setting hooks.  So what's the advantage of right hand equipment again?

Looks like a nice setup but your reel handle is on the wrong side!
For me, all of my reels are right hand retrieve..

Do you cast with your left hand?  If one casts with their left hand it makes complete sense.  If you have to switch hands every single time you cast it doesn't make any sense at all.  Why add another several steps to the casting process which is completely unnecessary?  I mean, if you've been doing it this way for years and it's just ingrained there's no reason to change now, but for people new or newer to fishing it makes a lot more sense to reel with your non-dominant hand and cast with your dominant.

I do cast with my left hand.  I know you shouldn't change hands after casting.  The weird part about everything though, I'm right-handed in damn near everything that I do.

I use left hand baitcasters too. No idea why anyone would want a right hand...I cast with my right hand.

It's like taking your finger off the trigger to do a reload...makes no sense.

I prefer right hand retrieve, works much better for this southpaw

Gave this reel's drag a solid work out today.  It's extremely smooth.  I was very impressed.

Throwing the exact rig that's in the combo today i tossed it into a tree in the water near shore and a good drop off and got that solid thump.

Set the hook and it felt like a snag...so i let off a little bit and this thing took off.  Headed for deep water around the front of the boat, peeling off drag.  I slowed it down with my thumb and got him stopped.  Got him closer to the boat and he took off again under  the boat.  I had to let him run on that one or risk breaking the rod on the side of the boat.  Another run out to deep water and i finally got him to the surface.  Before i see the flash, i'm thinking this is a MONSTER bass(for these parts anyway).

Get him to the surface and it's a big ol channel cat.  10+ lb probably 28 inch's long.
