While I fully realize there is no reel good UFB. What would be the best fake bait to store in a small fishing kit? The area of operation will be everything from the great lakes, southern streams and Alaska rivers.

You need a USBK, a universal small bait kit.
A couple spoons, couple spinner baits, couple crankbaits, a few weedless worm rigs, hooks, sinkers, bobbers. I'd keep everything on the small side, little fish are easier to catch and hopefully you won't be feeding an army, or if you are, have each person similarly equipped. |
