I have been reading this story on the authors blog.
Good stuff, I know you will like it:

INDIVISIBLE

Description by the author:
‘Indivisible’ is a blovel about total socio-economic collapse in the U.S. and the intersecting lives of a diplomat, a sheriff, a soldier and an unemployed father as they try to survive a modern U.S. civil war.

Unfortunately, he is not done yet, but he is posting new chapters consistently and seems to be more than 2/3rds of the way done, so I don't think we will get hung out waiting for an ending like what happens here so often.

Enjoy

The ending felt a little rushed. lots of loose ends untied.
I enjoyed the ride, but the feel a little cheated.

Finshed it last night, good book.  Gives a good insight into how the Government, Military, and Police would likely act during such an emergency.  The Feds would go completely out of control with power, most of the military would do as they are ordered, with a few that wouldn't go against the constitution, and the cops would be as big a threat as any of them.

I read maybe half of indivisible, and found it to be really hokey, low grade writing, wretchedly unbelievable characters. I really wanted to like it. I love the subject matter, but ended up paging through, the going back and trying again, and didn't even finish it.
