Long story short, my friend sprayed our lawn for a clover infestation we were having. It killed most and what was left over I spread a generalized clover/dandelion killer over. About 3 or 4 weeks later, my lawn becomes infested with crabgrass and this unidentified weed. The crabgrass can be sprayed- not a problem. I just don't know what this weed is. Yes it does resemble clover, but all I know is it's certainly not white clover.

I think that is black medic. Take a look at these pictures. Medic
2-4-D isn't very effective for black medic. Use trimec fairly early in the season. It's tough to kill without hurting the grass later in the season. |

Just because it's a yellow flower doesn't mean it's the same thing. It looks a little like Salsify, but I'd need to see a closer (clear) shot of the flowers and one of the foliage. salsify |

Sow thistle fits. If that dandelion-like clump of broadleaf foliage is the base plant, I would not be able to argue. Make sure nothing else in your area is broadleaf that you want to keep. |

I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying he should not have sprayed to get rid of the clover? It's not clover he has as a weed right now. So....are you saying the current weed is somehow a curse upon him for spraying for clover???? confused kitties is confused.
