Howdy,
A section of my yard has a few ground squirrel burrows and they've eaten some of the plants I've put in. What's a dog-safe method to kill/deter the little bastards short of calling in an expert (last resort)? |

I hate cats and am allergic anyway. Ferrets are cool, but are little cancer magnets.
I like the molten aluminum option. I always found those ant colony castings to be fascinating. Quoted:

Unfortunately, their site is not loading for me. |

Smoke bombs every day or two. Basically you make their holes uninhabitable.
I currently have an issue with the tree rats eating all my deer corn. A couple times a day I shoot at them with a suppressed 22lr. We'll see how long it takes before I kill all of them. |

I had one of those. They suggest a 2 minute shot of oxygen and propane into ground squirrel holes. I only ever did 30 seconds max in gopher holes and it was sketchy as fuck. They say not to ignite it with your thumb because too many people break them wth the recoil. Cut lengths of 2" or 3" pvc pipe about 2' long and place ground squirrel bait in them. The squirrels will go into them and eat the poison but dogs and cats can't. We leave both ends open but you can cap one end and that way no poison can really spill out when you place the bait station on theground. |

Between smoke bombs, poison, fox urine granules, and three crazy mutts, I think I have a shot at this. The rabbits will get acquainted with .177 pellets.
