Our lawn sprinkler system is 48 maxipaw pop ups on 16 valves running as 8 zones. I need to relocate one head about 15' from its present location. I dug it up and its feed off of a 1" poly line tapped with a 1" x 1/2" saddle tap. We are on a well with a 1.5hp variable speed pump. I don't know what max flow is. The system pressure is set at 50 psi - with one zone running (6 heads) it drops to 48 psi.
The specific sprinkler is feed with about 18" of 1/2" poly. I'm wondering if I can just replace the 18" of 1/2" poly with about 15' of 1/2" poly? Or, if for a 15' run should I replace the tap with a 1" tee and run a full 1" supply to the sprinkler? ETA: It didn't matter. 1/2" poly works fine. Plenty of pressure & water at the sprinkler head. I was concerned about line loss, but at 15' it doesn't seem to be an issue. |
