The slide (the drop weight) is the most valuable piece on mine, as it's actually a Rowland mount for an excavator.

(Failed post pounder attempt).   This plate compactor shakes apart the tractor rather than push a post into the dirt. The compactor may require more Hydraulic flow than my tractor can flow (16gpm)  but I think the results would still be similar even if it could.

Rough price list for ya.
$50 craigslist find 6" Ibeam
$200 1/2" 2.4/4' face plate
$50 3'' square tubing
$50 2'x2' 3/4" bottom plate
$50 misc steel
$120 pulleys
$50 5/16 cable and clamps
$150 8" cylinder
$200 1/2" hydraulic hoses running to tractor rear remotes
$100 welding rod
 ~$1020 + what you create/use for a drop weight.

My my drop weight is from the plate compactor in the picture, if you count that cost, add $1,500 and take off whatever I get for the compactor minus the Rowland mount when/if I sell it.

Why do you carry it that way?  Looks like you're using forks, which makes me wonder even more.... Doesn't it try and roll away when getting under it or offloading it?

p.s.  Tell your Baler guy to do a better job of zig zagging so you don't get them lop sided bales
(way easir said than done, to those who don't know)

Does it count if I don't own the tractor?  I'm in the green shirt.  The guy next to me owns the tractor.  We managed to get all the trusses up and locked in place by dark.  The top of the posts is about 13 feet. We would hold the truss on the lip of the bucket, which would only go up to about 10 feet.  Then we lifted it the other 3 feet.

I carry it that way because I only have forks and I have to roll the bales out of my truck bed but thanks for wondering and all the constructive feedback

I had my Phantom 4 Pro flying for a little bit.  I had the controller up there with me and was taking some pictures with it.  I tried to get video of us bringing the truss up but I must have bumped the gimbal control when I set the controller down and the camera moved.

I didn't mean it as antagonizing.  I was genuinely curious.   Ok, maybe teasing about the bale itself... But having baled thousands of round bales, Perfect symmetry on every bale is impossible, which is why I made that joke.

Makes sense why you're carrying them that way now.

Didn't get any pics yesterday, but my dad picked up an Oregon 28-ton splitter earlier this year. Here's a couple pics I took back when he got it.

Some of them were pulled from locations where we didn't have the bucket right up by the log. Wasn't really worth resetting once we got it pulled back some. Been doing it that way a long, long time, don't think we've ever had a logging chain break or wear out near an end.

I think he meant saw chains.   The less log you have dragging on the ground, less dirt on the log to cut through, and less chain sharpening

Finished waiting for grass to grow. this is the latest in the year I have tried to seed a lawn. I'm not expecting, just hoping, it will germinate. We are in the middle of a warm spell here. Unfortunately, it looks like that is going to run out on Friday. High of 41.

If that doesn't work, I'll over seed it in the spring. Just trying to get a head start on it.

this is my first "lightweight" bar, my older Stihl wears an OEM bar but when I bought the Dolly a year and a half ago I opted for the Total (it's made by Tsumura).

there is a guy on OPE ("ford150") who sells the Total/Tsumura bars at good prices thru his dealership.

Working on my Taj Mahal Upgrade project (TMU, a deer hunting shack), I had to use my tractor with it's forks to lift it so I could install the elevators.  The elevators are steel brackets that have sockets for 4x4 timbers to hold it up off the ground and up in the air.  Here's their website:  http://www.elevatorsllc.com/

Pics of the TMU on the ground outside my shop:

Unpainted version:

And here I'm lifting it with my tractor:

And here it is with 4 foot long 4x4s temporarily installed so I can do the porch railing.  You can clearly see 3 of the 4 elevators on the corners.

And here it is with the four 4x4's removed and back on the ground.  Note the final painting and porch railing:

Front side.  I haven't taken the protective coating off the lexan sheet windows yet; that's why they are clouded:

Since I waaaaay overbuilt this thing, I won't be able to transport or move it, especially not down my hill, with my 40 HP Kubota tractor.  So I'm borrowing my neighbor with his 100 HP Kubota tractor and forks to move it tomorrow AM.  Should be an excellent "hold my beer and watch this!" moment!

Thanks for looking!

GOT IT DONE!!!  Got my Taj Mahal Upgrade deer hunting shack down to the bottom of the hill, installed it upright on it's 4x4 timbers and got it braced.

Two of my neighbors plus my hunting partner came over today around noon.  Thank God one of my neighbor's brought this 100 hp Kubota tractor - there is No Way I could have moved this monstrosity by myself with my tractor.

Enough whining, on with the epics:

Getting ready to back down my hill.  My tractor providing moral support on the left; one of the project supervisors in the center bottom part of the pic.

And here we go!  Note one of the other project supervisors closely watching progress plus providing quality control:

About halfway down.  Note one of the project supervisors on the left side scoping out the route to ensure the project safety and quality.  The final resting place of the TMU is directly behind the tractor and TMU in the upper corner of my lower field.

Down at the bottom of the hill, first phase completed!!!

And we have a thumbs up of approval from one of the project supervisors on the successful completion of Phase I!

Part II coming up - Stay Tuned!!!

TMU Part II:

Getting the 4x4 uprights under the elevators at each corner:

It's not obvious in this pic, but we had to use both tractors here since my neighbor's tractor was sitting off-camber.  Lifting the TMU to +8' was starting to lift one of rear tires of my neighbor's tractor, a precursor to rolling the tractor over it's side.  Translation in non-tractor-speak:  Very Bad News.  My tractor wasn't able to lift the TMU, but it was able to provide additional support and lift for that one corner; in other words all that was needed to keep all of my neighbor's tractor tires firmly planted on the ground.  Translation:  That's what you want, all four tires firmly planted when lifting heavy stuff high up, like this.

Got it braced enough for us to take a break and go have steak sandwiches made for us by my wife!  I'll do the final bracing plus stairs tomorrow etc when it's a little warmer.

And a final gratuitous scenic shot:

Thanks for looking!  Questions?  Ask'em, I'm here all night!

What did you use to get those blocks put in place or did you have that part contracted out?  Some of those look like they would have required at least 4 people to move, if people could even move them.

All 4 people could have done is stand around and drink beer. Those blocks are just shy of a ton apiece. I had to borrow my FIL's telehadler. Right tool for the job!

I like it!   But seeing those pics created a new question.  It appears you have a custom auxiliary setup for something. Willing to enlighten me?
