Anybody have experience using xmas lights (nonLED) to keep citrus or other trees warm during a freeze?

Interesting... but sounds expensive...
Why not the tried & true water sprinkler method?

because I will be out of town some times when it is freezing. I need something i can leave for several days at a time if it freezes hard.
I live in San Antonio, Tx where it is usually hot.
