Sitting on a heap of professionally prepared and packaged beef jerky.........ah.......beef tenders as benefactor prefers it to be called.
The packages run from 3 to 10 ounces (with some kind of freshness" packet) and have sell by dates. I would like to add these to my meager preparedness food bank. How would you go about trying to lengthen their shelf life? TIA |
| my homemade jerky doesn't last long at all but what little I can keep for myself will last a month in my desk drawer without killing me. I usually keep it in the freezer though and it seems to last forever there. You don't even have to warm it up. It is just dried meat after all. |
