So the wife and I want to get one installed. We have an existing bucket well which is essentially a hole in the ground with a stone surround. Would it make sense to put the piping directly into the existing well or start all over in another spot?
I am going to pump out our existing one tomorrow to see how deep it is and what condition is in.

We've got a hand-dug, stone lined, well by our barn.  Just put a concrete cap on the one you have and run a line down into it.  Be sure to put a foot valve at the bottom.

We have a Simple Pump.  Very well made pump...I don't think there is any better.
