Anyone successfully taken an antique cast iron pump and been able to pump water from a well?  I assume the piston/gasket is a component that will only last do long regardless of the pump.  How much lift (at best) can you expect from the pump design linked?  What size was your drop pipe?  What was your pump yield?

Not interested in Bison pumps.

IIRC thirty feet is the maximum distance you can pump water with one of those. Otherwise you must have the pump mechanism below the water table.
