Yep, pulled 40# of tomatos yesterday and another 40# today in various states of ripeness. Canned 30 pints of tomato sauce this afternoon after it cooked down all night. Takes 36 pounds (minus waste) with all the other ingredients to cook down to get around 30 pints.
This is the first year I can remember that I've had green tomatos splitting.........
Probably another 40# or so to pick within the next 3 days if the sun comes out. When it rains it splits....LOLLOL |

Quoted: This year has been terrible for our tomatoes. We've had so much rain that probably half our tomatoes have split. Cucumbers are doing great though! |

I'm really surprised that our cantaloupes are doing well. We haven't lost any to splitting, but still got a few more weeks till we harvest. Quoted:

Hopefully mine will hang tough. We've had a really wet year up on the mountain. Some of our corn has tumor looking fungus growing on it because of the dampness. Of course the blight hit us hard on our tomatoes too. I'm gonna have to figure out how to post some pics! |

all of our watermelons have split open . Ive never had that happen before . Its rained hear everyday since May maybe 3 or 4 days inbetween that it hasnt. Was up around Clarksburg last week, and it rained. We haven't had it as bad as you though. Hate your crop has been hit like that though. |
| I've been turning my drip system on a few minutes morning and night every day to keep the ground moist. I'm afraid if I let it dry out we'll get a heavy rain and I'll lose a bunch to splitting. So far my pro-active approach has been working... no split maters yet... |
