While out spraying weeds in the pasture this weekend I noticed a large number of fire ant mounds on the property.
Anyone know of something that actually works to get rid of them?

Bleach will kill the shit out of them. It's not recommended by most people trying to sell other components, but it works.
It does not necessarily get to the source of the problem,so don't expect it to kill anything it doesn't touch. We actually carry a gallon of bleach with us on civil war reenactments just in case there are fire ants where we camp. |

ortho works every time
when you buy it, put it in the back of your truck, not in it. It stinks, but it works |

CrossCheck from Lesco. Mix 1oz to 1 gallon of water. Spray directly down the hole and around the mound. Do this for all the mounds you see, you will no longer have a fire ant problem. Ants will be gone by morning never to be seen again. DEAD.
Safe enough for residential and commercial applications. I use it inside and outside my house. Kills most anything that crawls, flies or scurries. Safe around pets and people. Just don't use near water as it is super toxic to fish. |
