Anyone have a recommendation for a nursery that ships?  I'm looking to get my hands on some good fruit trees, and most of what i've seen locally seems pretty poor quality.  Do you recommend any mail order nurseries?  If so, who, and why?

I have no experience with this place per se (other than to buy about 6 bottles of their cider ) However, when I stopped in there they were quite helpful with going over trees to pick for cider making. I do plan to buy about 5-6 trees from them once they start digging, which will be about Thanksgiving.

My Blueberry bushes came from Burpees.  I ordered 5 last year and another 9 just this week.

I get some Trees from Stark bros the quality is good and their prices are good expecially during their spring bumper crop sales.  But I get most of my trees from Miller nurseries in canandagua , NY.  http://millernurseries.com/      the quality is the best of the mail order nurseries and the customer service is the best . I have had them replace dead trees even after the 1 year guarantee , I bought it last spring and this spring its dead ,,, no problem here is a replacement , I'm happy . with Stark you miss the call by just one day , forget it no guarantee. I'm pissed.   Other than that Stark ain't to bad to deal with , and sometimes they are the only one with the variety I want.   Stan

I've had nothing but good luck with Stark.  I'm surprised.  When you say one day past guarantee is that 12 months or 14 months?  A couple years ago I had a tree out of warranty and called anyways.  I was pleasantly surprised when they took care of a replacement.  I was told they had extended their warranty to 14 months to cover spring planted stock so you can see if it comes out of dormancy the following year.

I've purchased from Miller too with no problems.  Never heard of Van Well but will check them out.

i just recently planted two pear and a crab apple purchased from edward fort nursury.  they were very helpful when i called them.  they were also very good about their shipping also.  i was on a time constraint and the trees showed up when they said they would.  +1 for them
