ummm  lessee.....I have carolines that I may mow to the ground this fall, and Anne yellow raspberries that will get the same treatment.  They are just too labor intensive to maintain any other way  .

We do about half to keep the growth under control.

Agree.

We have a big patch and Mrs. Feral puts many hours into tending it. It saves a LOT of time to cut everything down. We do it in March/April. This year I used a saw blade on a weedeater and found that that worked very well.
