what do you guys use for the border of the garden? in order to make it easier to mow, I am considering putting up a 2 X 6 or 8 treated lumber border. any problems you guys see with that? unfortunately this will be a fall project.

I use rocks.
My place makes rocks.

Just keep in mind that if you put in a vertical border, you're trading mowing for weedeating.

We don't do a border because we have too many linear feet of garden edge to make it cost-effective. Plus it becomes just something else to maintain. It would also interfere with getting machines in and out of the plots. YMMV.

yep, us too.  it's either mowed or tilled.  Nothing in between!
