Bought the house last year and decided I wanted to turn this area into a garden.  Heard about the All New Square Foot Gardening book and decided to give it a try.

Here is a before and after

Very cool setup!  Did you figure out a cost for the size of SFG you are planning?  As in materials and soil mixing in addition to time? or are you doing it for the enjoyment of it?  Either way, the improvement over the previous use of the space is exceptional.  I look for ward to seeing updates of your progress!

Thanks.  I haven't added up the cost yet.  It is mostly for my enjoyment.  Hopefully I can get it to produce some food.

quick question, what is the basic concept of SFG?

Basic concept is this: intensive planting in a small space which minimizes weeding and makes using machines for tillage unnecessary. You basically work a small plot to it's maximum potential.

Outstanding job!

I have been inspired, I may try this next year

I'm going to go do some measuring up where my plot is this year.  By doing it this way I can save the tilling, and fit more in a small area Great ideas!

Where would I find this book?

It does get quite a bit of sun over there.  Not as much as I would like but I also live in the Pacific Northwest so we don't get much sun anyway
