A friend sent this to me (Thanks Brent) and I tried it, loved it and thought I'd share

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour*
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 (12-ounce) can of beer

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease or spray a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Combine all ingredients, mixing well.
  3. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour.

Makes 1 loaf.

*Or you may substitute with 3 cups all purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.

I used killians red, but you could use lighter or darker beer as you want to alter the flavor. The resulting bread had no "beer" flavor (ZERO alcohol) to me at all that I would differentiate from normal bread yeast flavor.
It was VERY easy and fast to make, no rising times, no yeast, mix and toss it in the oven, and an hour later you've got hot bread. Mine turned out slightly moist in the inside and medium hard crust on the outside, and had an excellent flavor.
I'll try to get a pic of the next one I make instead of eating it right away lol

We have a place here that will butter both sides and pan/griddle fry it so its crunchy and serve it as a side with their steaks.

its off the charts
