| Where the spring and spiral hook up on the food strainer there is about an inch gap from the back of the body to the back of the spiral. Tomato juice seems to collect there, and only comes out when I take it apart. Is the gap between the spiral, and the body normal? Or do I need to buy a new spring? |
| I have a kitchenaide attatchment that does the same thing. Its infuriating, they could have made the auger go back another 1/2" and food wouldn't accumulate there. Worse is the auger is hollow so you have to poke a skewer down to get the food out. I found that out the hard way. Hmm, I'll have to take another look at it, may be a project for the lathe ;-) |
There is a gap. I place a towel on the table under everything including the strainer. I also put a towel on the floor cause I make such a dang mess. When you take everything down all the stuff winds up on the towels......with the sometimes exception of the juice that squirts across the kitchen onto Chicken Lady's white cabinets. I usually get the 'look' at that point
