Last year was my first year planting potatoes.  I tried to grow them vertically, and it didn't do what I was expecting.  I do however still have a few left, and they're sprouting.  Is there any reason that I shouldn't plant them?  Or should I go get new seed potatoes?

I finally got around to prepping the ground, so I should be planting my garden tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks!

The concerns are that you can carry over diseases.  Most folks recommend against it for that reason.  I just planted 5 lbs of organinc potatoes from the grocery store that had sprouted.  In the past I have planted leftover potatoes and most of the time they did fine.  I would go for it.
